Sustainable silence that works

Acoustic Factory

We design acoustic products and we do this in an innovative way and with a good dose of enthousiasm an passion. We have a mission and carry out our promises. To live consciously and have a durable lifestyle is what we stand for. It’s not a marketing tool we use as an end purpose, but it simply says who we are. We try to infect everyone else with our point of view by means of marketing.

Circular Economy

The circular economy is an economic system that is designed to maximize reusability of products and raw materials and minimize Value destruction Unlike the current linear system, in which raw materials are converted into products that are destroyed after usage.

Why and How

We believe in a greener world and we are able to give a great contribution in achieving this.
If you follow the current developments on global heating - among other things the ice that melts in Greenland you can compare to a volume that fills 3000 trucks per day - then maybe you can imagine that with an increase of 140cm of the sea level, half of the Netherlands will come under water.

  • What about the acoustics in my workspace?

Every space is unique and everything in the room affects the acoustics to some extend. A hard floor surface, a large bookcase filled with books, a leather sofa, all of those affect speech clarity and comfort for our ears. Generally, the more hard materials are used in a particular room, the worse the acoustics will be.

We have been improving acoustics in offices, boardrooms, conference areas. living rooms ect for many year now. Our experience has taught us the following:
The amount (M) of sound absorbing material needed to improve the acoustics

1/3 of your total surface furnished with acoustic products on the wall or ceiling is already sufficient to .

A room of 15 x 7 meters equals 105 m2 and a third of this equals 35 m2. You can then choose Acoustic Art (in total 35 m2) or Acoustic Vases of which you might need 6 pieces. This we calculate according to the acoustic filling we use.

We even use an iPhone application that works quite good if you want to know how many decibel is in your room. Locating the frequency of noise is measured in a quick and simple way.

    Acoustic myths
Applying egg boxes underneath the table; it only makes sense for shoes making noise on the floor and nice for kids picking material from under the table during their meal.

Hang curtains; curtains indeed absorb sound, but are mostly tight together and therefor have a low acoustic value.

  • What is circular economy?

Acoustic Factory would like contribute to the transformation of the current wasteful (linear) economy into a Circular Economy. But what exactly is the Circular Economy?

It means that, after a certain period, the customer can return the product to the manufacturer, who than take the raw materials and reuse them for new (acoustic) products. In other words, we do not throw anything away, we recycle our own materials.

  • How about installation of the acoustic products?

We'd love to install our products in your space and we generally include installation in our quotes.

  • I would like a room divider without acoustic properties. Can you do that?

Yes. We have have various free standing and desktop privacy products in our assortment that do not absorb sound. These items are as sustainable and eco-friendly as all our acoustic solutions.

  • I am considering installing curtains to improve acoustics. Would that work?

No.  Curtains harldy improve room acoustics. You will get a slightly warmer sound but they certainly do not absorb the frequency range needed in order to improve speech clarity.
